Old All Saints
All Saints church was formerly located in Elton, where it was the centre of community life for over a century. The former church building has been converted into flats, and thus preserved. The former day school is now a nursery, and thereby continues to serve the young people of Elton. The graveyard is still open for visits from family, friends, and the wider community, and is popular with local dog walkers. The graveyard contains 26 military graves from WWII, as well as monuments to local families, some of whom, being prominent in the area, are the focus of historical interest. An architectural description of the church can be found here: https://manchestervictorianarchitects.org.uk/buildings/all-saints-church-walshaw-road-elton-bury.
You can search for burials here: https://www.findagrave.com/cemetery/2527703/all-saints-churchyard .
Alternatively a member of our congregation, John Grundy, is happy to be contacted with queries, his email address is jtgrundy@aol.com .

For specific enquiries about the locations of graves or the dates of historic burials, it is best to contact the archives in the local studies library or Manchester Central libraries, as these records are no longer held in parish churches unless they refer to the last decade or so. Many of the register entries are searchable online here: https://www.manchester.gov.uk/directory_record/493702/all_saints_elton
